Now for something relaxing.
On our Alie dog walk at Seacliff State Beach (Monterey Bay, CA) this morning we had quite a whale show. There was a pod and we counted at least 5 with a number of breaches - off camera of course.
From time to time we see whales, dolphin, seals, and otters off the coast. It’s not often enough so each time is a treat.
At the end of the walk there was an Egret in the Aptos Creek as it flows into the ocean. We don’t see Egrets very often here either. More so to the south in the Moss Landing area.

Sunrise in Aptos CA this morning.
And at Seacliff State Beach on the Alie walk. The view is looking south-east over storm damage with the Santa Lucia mountains and Monterey in the distance. It unfortunate that all the work that CA State Parks did cleaning up and repairing Seacliff due to last January's storm is largely undone with this recent storm. These weather patterns are the new normal, sadly.
