“Touri-Hotspot” / Tourist hotspot
Boracay Island, one of the tourist magnet beaches of the Philippines. I’d never gone while I was growing up there, and only experienced it as a visitor decades later. I’m still working through the mess of complicated feelings that this trip brought up for me, but being on this beautiful beach was a moment of quiet magic.

I took this photo on our first Iceland road trip 13 years ago in Borgarfjörður eystri, East Iceland. I still wish I lived in that house in the photo, close to the sea and the mountains, and only a few minutes drive away from a puffin colony!
