Sea Mills, once known as the Roman port of Abonae, at the junction of the rivers Severn and Trym, occupied from the 1st century AD to the later 4th century AD. The harbour walls look Roman to me, with the blocks of masonry typical of Roman work, but English Heritage say that they are from c1715-20 and are the remains of the first floating harbour on the Avon, in use from 1712, and closed in 1766. (I still think they're at least partly Roman.)
