A secondary "benefit" (for these ghouls) is to hasten the demise of the Social Security Trust Fund. The primary reason that these people have Social Security numbers is so that they can work. When they work, they pay Social Security taxes. These payments help bolster the Social Security system to the tune of $26 billion each year, even though these individuals cannot claim benefits unless their immigration status changes.

Hastening the demise of the Social Security Trust Fund bolsters the argument that the program should be turned over to the private sector.
