Next, I spent some time matching up micro-blocks to create scrappy 4-patch blocks. Sewing them all took over an hour, and pressing them all took at least that long (probably longer). But the trimming! Gods, the trimming! Very time-consuming. All told, today's effort took me about 6 (?) hours, give or take. I ended up with 91 scrappy 4-patch mini-blocks, and 10 scrappy 6-patch blocks (just to get a little fancy).

I've been doing a lot of improv quilt blocks the last few weeks. I decided to make this one into a mini quilt! The brown pieces are from a shirt I thrifted that fit a little too tight. I still have to iron it all down, but I love how it turned out! The piece next to it is an even tinier quilt I use as a needle book.

The blocks are in strips of four, five, and six. It's proving to be a little tedious to piece the checkerboard border but I think it'll be the perfect finish. I am unsure if I have enough blocks for more than three wide, but I'm feeling pretty confident in at least three so that's what I'm going with.
