Interesting debate in #ScottishParliament regarding looking into working of political parties. #scottishpolitics Could we start with #ScottishLabour and an investigation into the Glasgow selection campaign for Sarwar senior? I’ve always been intrigued as to why Mike Watson suddenly dropped his action to challenge the strange voting patterns? Then, ‘parachuted’ into the #houseoflords with a guaranteed seat in the proposed Scottish Parliament. #anassarwar or #JackieBaillie like to comment please?

On Tuesday, the #ScottishParliament elected #JohnSwinney as #FirstMinisterOfScotland.

That's the 5th successive term with an #SNP First Minister.

And it's 23 years since the last election of a #ScottishLabour First Minister: Jack McConnell in 2003.

Labour dominated Scotland for 50 years. When Holyrood was established, Labour was the natural party of government.

Now electing a Labour FM is a fading memory, held by people with greying hair. Labour's colour is turning to sepia.

Multi-cultural and anti-monarchy: Scotland's new Parliamentarians stood up and spoke up yesterday when sworn in as new MSPs.

First Minister John Swinney said: "Before I take my oath [to the King], let me pledge that the primary loyalty of the Scottish National Party is to the people of Scotland, in line with the constitutional principle of the sovereignty of the people.”
