Creag Mhòr (Meall na Aighean) at the east end of the Glen Lyon Munros. Failed to bag this one first time round (due to poor weather, lack of preparation, and confidence). The round of four still feels like unfinished business so might be back to do the full loop. Nevertheless, an easy day out and another one in the bag. Munro no. 97. Not a classic photography day though.

"But pleasures are like poppies spread,
You seize the flower, its bloom is shed;
Or like the snow falls in the river,
A moment white--then melts for ever;
Or like the borealis race,
That flit ere you can point their place;
Or like the rainbow's lovely form
Evanishing amid the storm."

If you've got a quarter of an hour to listen to some Robert Burns in honour of his birthday this Saturday, you could do worse than listen to Mark Stephen's fabulous reading of Tam O'Shanter on the BBC Radio Scotland podcast 'Scotland Outdoors'.

The Tarmachan Ridge today, taking on Munro no. 85, Meall nan Tarmachan. Few showers here and there but never got soaked and tops clear. Fantastic wee ridge. The slightly less common horseshoe route, approaching from the north.

I do like a wander. It may be very familiar, but I love it.

So lucky to live here.
