Saturn’s moon Titan just threw scientists a curveball. A reanalysis of Cassini data shows Titan doesn’t flex enough under Saturn’s gravity to support a global subsurface ocean. Instead, it may have a thick ice shell with pockets of liquid water trapped inside. Titan remains a top astrobiology target, with liquid hydrocarbon seas and a dense atmosphere.
