It's been a few years since I moved from WordPress.com to blogger to WordPress.org. I think it was 2023? And "make higher res version of banner that fits the column width" is still on my to-do list. I started it. I just never finished it.

If I hadn't used the Dusk theme back when I first started my blog in 2007, I bet my site would have been pink. This slate blue and dark grey isn't really my thing at all, but I'm really attached to it. That was one of the reasons I ditched the .com version. The Dusk theme got deprecated and caused my sidebar to delete itself when I tried to update a widget. And I was like, NO I WILL NOT CHANGE MY THEME. Also, I was absolutely DONE with freaking blocks. So I moved to blogger as a temporary move, manually uploaded EVERY SINGLE POST, because I had to fix the image links and manually html-ify everything. It took weeks. Or maybe days, I don't remember, it was a long time ago. All I was doing was copy-pasting each post I wanted to transfer over, editing the image source to point to postimages, and syncing the post date with the original. Blogger also banned my post criticising #Scamazon, but didn't tell me which part was problematic. So I knew that blogger would never be more than a temporary measure.

After about a year, I found a job and I switched to self-hosting my blog. This time I exported my blogger posts, a bit of find and replace to edit the image links once again to point to my image directories on my own domain, the blogger to WordPress import tool and NO MORE BLOCKS. Plugins like ClassicPress and raw text to put things back how they should be, and everything was fine, until updating php made my blog die, so I had to stay on an old version. After a year of that nonsense, I managed to get the host to update my php to v8 without it killing my blog.

And now this shenanigans.

Anyway, I do need to update that banner sometime. It just doesn't annoy me enough to make me do it. And I need to start blogging again. It's like a memory lane for me and a catalogue of my craft projects, but getting Mastodon has made me lazy ad just post here instead of making proper blog posts.

EDIT: They also legally cannot ask WHY, nor demand medical proof. Violates a whole host of federal statutes including the ADA
