Not too many guesses for this fortnight's #MysteryCoin. If you can't tell me the country.... Can you tell me what "unicef" is perhaps?
The #Newsletter will be out soon, so do subscribe if you haven't already to be the first to read the answer: https://coinofnote.com/newsletter/

The largest Viking Age coin hoard in Norwegian history has been found in a field near Rena in Østerdalen.
A total of 2,970 silver coins have been discovered so far, with the search is still ongoing.
The largest coin hoard in Norwegian history consists mainly of English (Anglo-Saxon) and German coins, in addition to some Danish and Norwegian ones. Among them are coins minted under Cnut the Great, Æthelred II, Otto III, and Harald Hardrada.

Hello #SaturdayNightCoinShow!
Here is a well loved, somewhat grubby, 1983 UK Penny. To be honest, I can't remember why it is on my desk, but since it is, I'm sharing it with you.
This coin was only issued from 1982 - 1984. Up until 1981 the design was the same except reading "NEW PENNY" rather than "ONE PENNY" (from 1971 when decimal currency was introduced). In 1985, a new portrait of Queen Elizabeth II was introduced.
The reverse features a crowned portcullis with chains (an adaptation of the Badge of Henry VII which is now the Badge of the Palace of Westminster),
What is on your desk at the moment? Share it with the #SaturdayNightCoinShow hashtag and let us see your random #coin!
It's #MysteryCoin time!
With those distinctive keys and hat behind the shield, it shouldn't be TOO hard to guess the WHERE. And with "PAVLVS VI P.M. AN.IVB.MCMLXXV" around the edge, the WHEN should also be achievable... so what I'd like to know is the WHY? What is on the other side of this coin which makes it topical for the current season? Let us know, and we'll have the answer.... a little closer to Easter...
Not so much closer, as I'm about to work on the newsletter which will have the answer shortly.... but do let us know what you think! I'm sure some of my #Christian, #Catholic, #Bible reading followers can guess...

Yes, I was very late reading this week's E-Sylum, why do you ask? 😁
Late or not, it is always an interesting read, and well worth subscribing as there are many more articles than the few I share! Go to this week's newsletter (or any week's): https://www.coinbooks.org/v29/esylum_v29n09.html
And look for the "Click here to subscribe" link to get it yourself each week.

Something which crosses hobbies is always of interest to a wider group. Here is an article on US Postal Notes. As the article in E-Sylum describes, "The post office charged three cents for each note, which could be used to forward sums up to five dollars" (Can anyone clarify exactly HOW these worked? I'm unclear). This one from 1883. https://www.coinbooks.org/v29/esylum_v29n09.html#article3

While I'm thinking about the Coin of Note newsletter, I just realised, a few of the images, which pointed to pictures from my old Mastodon account, had been lost. I've been through and updated the images, and a couple of links, Hi @greenseer !) and it should look a little prettier now.

I'm working on this fortnight's Newsletter. Have you guessed the #MysteryCoin yet?
A pretty much Anepigraphic coin showing an Eagle - there is one letter on there too. It's not much to go on, so I'm going to give you one detail from the other side: 4.
