5 months into my journey of intentional #WeightLoss, (#Recovery from #Obesity as I’m now called it) I decided regular baking recipes are now too sweet, so I went to the library looking for low was looking for #LowSugar #recipes. Well, I accidentally discovered a treasure trove of #dinner recipes that perfectly suit my cooking style in ‘Fast Family Food’ by #SarahWilson and #IQuitSugar

Since my second child was born, my survival method has been to spend 1-2 hours #MealPrepping once per week, save food in portions in the freezer, and feed my family out of the freezer or make very quick meals all the other days. This book has recipes organised by cooking time, the longer recipes (most of which actually don’t take long to prep but want to spend 1-4 hours in the oven or slow cooker) and some of the quicker recipes are designed to transform leftovers from those into completely new dishes.

Best podcast I listened to in sometime:

Don't be a dick

In his Leviathan-like Goliath’s Curse: The History and Future of Societal Collapse, by way of a solution for civilisational demise, #LukeKemp advises “don’t be a dick”.

Luke, an associate at the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk at the University Cambridge, argues, as I do in my book, that our global civilisation is careering towards the worst societal #collapse yet, with the main threat coming from leaders who are “walking versions of the dark triad” of vile personality traits - #narcissism, #psychopathy and #Machiavellianism.

This One Wild and Precious Life
A Hopeful Path Forward in a Fractured World

We live in truly overwhelming times. The climate crisis, political polarisation, racial injustice and coronavirus have left many of us in a state of PTSD. We have retreated, morally and psychologically; we are experiencing a crisis of disconnection - from one another, from our true values, from joy, and from life as we feel we are meant to be living it.

“Everybody said the city was going to die,” Sopotnik says. “But actually, the opposite happened”.

This #BigIssue story by #SarahWilson is not just about going #CarFree — but really #PublicOpinion and our collective inability to (initially) see the forest through the trees.

People protested when this capital city went car-free. Now they love it

For many cities, going car-free still feels like a distant pipe dream - but in Ljubljana, it's been a reality for more than a decade
