My biggest fear tonight is that Maine will lose its #Rankedchoicevoting . the misinformation around it is BS but many of the casually informed that we know believe RCV is bad. Its an off year election and the opposition is banking on voters not turning up. We could have had 4 more states with it but people like #Elon, right wing and #SarahPalin and other superpacs ran ads and algorithm nudges to misinform people on it ensuring it didn't grow, giving people much more choice in their government. It was extra kick in the gut to the terrible election of the convicted rapist and felon. I thought at least THIS was a bipartisan issue the right could even get behind. I was sadly wrong. Alaska almost lost theirs but the large indigenous community worked their asses off to save it because it actually gave them a voice and prevented mudslinging politics. Trump would have never been possible with RCV because vilifying your opponent is a terrible strategy if you want at least their second vote. Very nervous the misinformation will steal this one win we have and push us back to the starting line.
