Anoushka's concert was great! She is so charming and plays the sitar with so much passion and authority. And her band too.. as she said: "best band everrrr!". Plus: we were so lucky to have a longer concert (1 hour 45 mins) -I guess- because it was the last of the tour. A kind of farewell for them: They'll play again in 4 months. The gig was so successful that they added another date 2 hours before. That means that her standard set lasts 1h. 15 mins.

Maybe she doesn't play traditional classic indian music anymore, but her roots are evident in her atmospheric/conceptual/thematic musical work. A beautiful concert. Thank you, Anoushka. Hope to see you soon again.

Today is the day:

Anoushka Shankar, Ravi Shankar's daughter and sitar master as well, will perform for the first time in Chile. My father (80 years old) saw Ravi in 1973 in a sold out Theater in Santiago. He told me that a lot of people smoked weed during the show that night: The venue was full of smoke, so, Ravi said to the crowd in the middle of his performance: "stop smoking please or I'm leaving" 🤣
Today I go to this show with my wife and my dad, as a gift for him; a tribute to his musical history and the direct influence he had on me to finally become a professional musician; on my love for music, and my interest in new fascinating sounds from all over the world.

I'm quite excited! Go!
