"Valley Girl" is a song by American musician #FrankZappa, released as the sole single from his 35th album #ShipArrivingTooLateToSaveADrowningWitch (1982), and featuring his then-14-year-old daughter #Moon. Though Zappa intended it to mockingly satirize #SanFernandoValley teen culture, the song's success inadvertently popularized the "#valleyGirl" stereotype and its associated mannerisms. It peaked at number 32 on the U.S. #Billboard Hot 100.

We are being told these tall LA palm trees are reaching the end of their 100 year lifespan and are currently on their last leg.

That will change our landscape quite a bit — unless more are planted, although there are strong arguments against doing that — so, more photos of palm trees in 2026!

TBT This is 25 years ago near Santa Clarita, California. We were working on a project called BMW films and were shooting all night for several weeks. I was privileged to work with and watch the director, John Frankenheimer, and a then relatively unknown Clive Owen. A weird sense of lost California in some of the places we shot and waited in the cold.
