I’m #NowSpinning #BluesSinger by #BigBillBroonzy, a 2 vol. limited reissue by #SamRecords as part of the Artisan series.

Accepted, these are pricy, but they are special & impeccably done. The hand printed jackets are a proper work of art, the vinyl is immaculate in every respect, the SQ stunning, & the music both grit & a mesmerizing beauty to it.

This is very limited (450 total) & so, if it’s your bag, you might wanna check it out.

Returning home from a lengthy absence to discover this package from #SamRecords.

#SamRecords is a small boutique label based in Paris focusing on rare/unheard jazz & blues albums recorded in Europe.

I’ve not had chance to listen to this yet. But I’m a huge fan of #NathanDavis and #PeaceTreaty has been on my want list for some time.

The #BigBillBroonzy albums are a little bit special - but I’ll post about that later.

Sticking with that smooth #jazz swing & #NowListening to #ByrdInParis by #DonaldByrd with #BobbyJaspar, #WalterDavisJunior, #DougWatkins, & #ArtTaylor - another live offering from the exceptional #SamRecords, based out of Paris.

This is a typically high quality issue - well presented, very well mastered, & impeccably pressed. The performance is really strong - you can really hear the room & the musicianship is top par.

Next up & #NowListening to #DonaldByrd & #BobbyJaspar live at Cannes in ‘58.

This is just such a great recording &, while the Miles is evocative, this bops like an insane thing - particular on #BoogieWoogie - the highlight imo.

As far as I can see, this set is unique to the excellent #SamRecords based out of Paris. If you are into #jazz - definitely check Sam out. Their issues are generally #AAA, well mastered, meticulously pressed, & well presented.

#Listening to #JazzSurSeine by #MiltJackson, et al. This is such a good listen, it bops, swings, and swoons - brilliant musicianship, accessible, evocative, and fun in equal measure.

This copy is pressed by #SamRecords - a small independent label that specialises in European #jazz. Sam Records are typically AAA, impeccably pressed and presented, usually reproducing the original sleeve. And for the Europe based customer they really do represent value for money.

Even more Sunday vinyl ... a pretty expensive but indeed very pretty LP released by Sam Records, containing the Cannes 1958 set (shortened?) by the Donald Byrd Quintet with Bobby Jaspar, Walter Davis Jr., Doug Watkins and Art Taylor.
