Happy St Patrick's Day everyone, especially our wee Paddy aka the Irish mutt. Still a young lad, who isn't sure about his size, but a very cuddly boy, he comes up every evening for a cuddle at about eight, which he asks for very gently.

When we got him from the shelter and took him to the vet to get his pet passport sorted and his injured paw checked, the vet greeted him with: <insert strong Irish accent>So what can we do for you today, Mr Patrick?</insert strong Irish accent>

Miss MoneyPenny update: We got the results back and had a vet visits today. The pancreas is looking good and other things are looking as good as they can. But she is highly suspected to be suffering from IBD (Inflammatory bowel disease). She is talking well to the hypoallergenic food that she's been prescribed, no puking and good pooping for nearly a week now. Though still is pain/discomfort and not her 100% self yet. We are now in holding pattern to see if she will gain any weight, for her size a 1Kg would take about month and we need to get nearly two back on her. This also means that she is going to be wearing a netted muzzle to stop her being the scavenger that she is. She ain't going to like that! Because if she eats something that sets off the IBD again, it will be very serious.

Miss MoneyPenny update: she is much better now and is eating her kibble, little and often, and we have even had a poop today. Though she's lost a fair amount of weight, that we need to get back on her steadily over the next weeks.

Here she playing cute and innocent after a bit of a bark at some kids in the distance. And Paddy being the good boy that he is just checking on the kids and wondering if it's the time to run into HQ (one "good" thing to come out of his fear, is that he runs into HQ if something scares him, instead of barking)

Happy guesstimated birthday to you two mutts. Paddy the Irish mutt is now two years old and Penny the Spanish Podenco is now four. We don't know when their real birthday is because Paddy was found in a supermarket car park in Ireland and Penny was found running wild in a forest in Spain.

Anywhooo managed to get a run in today in the Pyrenees, not the highest parts. Because we don't have snow chains with us and the weather forecast just looked miserable up there. I'm sure we will be back in the spring after we have had a look at Spain for few weeks.

Arrgghh it's the fireworks season and for some reason the locals have taken up to celebrate lost loved ones in the local cemetery with fireworks on top of it all. So we are having a few minutes random display at a random time nearly every night. Lucky Paddy ain't too bothered if it is far away and while he sleeps. But wee Penny is not happy at any time, scared and runs to hide, and shivers in fear in what ever corner she finds. Tonight she jumped into Paddy's bed to get reassurance. So she must be scared as she is normally not keen on sharing a bed. Loud white noise or music helps as long as they didn't hear it beforehand.

**Public Service Announcement!**

If you are planning to travel with your mutt at any time in the future, do check their paperwork well ahead of time. As we were at the vets last week just for a check up on Penny and the vet noticed that previous vet had made a mistake on the Pet passport. So instead of having 2 year to go on her rabies jabs, we had run out. Previous vet had given a 3 year jab but filled in as a 1 year jab.

Lucky we are very flexible with our time and plans. Though we could be in trouble if entering another EU country and we wouldn't have been able to enter the yUK. Especially if the vet at the border is strict or doesn't know all the difference brands of jabs. Though now we are "stuck" in France for 21 days, while we wait for the new rabies jab is doing its thing.
