@krutonium I mean, #SaltwaterBatteries aka. #SodiumWetCells exist but they have even worse #EnergyDensity than #LiFePO4 cells which are a common upgrade to replace #LeadAcidBatteries and derivatives for combustion-engine cars.

Cuz worst-case gas stations just sell pre-packaged canisters and most likely convert a pump (from selling ROZ100+ bullshit noone buys) to #Methanol and maybe put a water-spray fire extinguisher next to it.

@adapalmer also I hope that #SodiumWetcells aka. #SaltwaterBatteries get developed to be drop-in replacements for #LeadAcid #batteries.

So, a #BatteryEnergyStorageSystem is in the works a few miles from where we live -- on the #SacoRiver. The local fire departments are already working on keeping on top of an incident if one happens, and knowing what to do if a #LithiumBatteryFire breaks out (the area where we live was mostly burned down in 1947, so fires are a big deal around here). It's something to be aware of. #LithiumBatteries aren't the saviors they are being made out to be. We need to invest in #SodiumIonBatteries and #SaltWaterBatteries and anything BUT #Lithium at this point -- ASAP!

I was talking to my partner about the #LithiumBattery fire, and he brought up #SodiumIonBatteries as an alternative. There's also progress being made on #SaltWaterBatteries, and Gaia knows we have plenty of that!
