#SalmonHatcheries, #FishLadders, etc. are #bandaid measures which will not sustain #WildSalmon & #steelhead in #WA or anywhere. #JayInslee and the entire WA Congressional delegation are being dishonest with the #publlc and those directly affected. The only way forward is to #RemoveTheDams on the #Columbia and elsewhere and yet in spite of Legal Outcomes to do just this, they sit untouched because no one has ANY Political Courage to do the job. Populations have collapsed and they are not coming back. #Mankind has knowingly destroyed these species and there are no substitutes for their native habitats which are fouled or unreachable. There are more than 500,000 Dams in the US. Some date back to the 1600's. All block #FishPassage and are #ECOKillers. #RemoveTheDams along the entirety of the #Klamath and there will be that many less. Only 3000 have been removed over the past decade so We have much much more work to do. #SaveWildSalmon and #mankind as well. Remove them all. Be #SalmonLeaders. @ianjames

If you want to #SaveWildSalmon then you must take a multi-pronged approach; 1/ Stop ALL FISHING until stocks recover fully. 2/ #RemoveTheDams and End all #WaterAbstractions. 3/ Prosecute #ECOKillers, Poachers and those who foul Rivers, Streams, Waterways and The Ocean. Be #SalmonLeaders and make the right decisions and stick to them. #WildPacificSalmon

#RemoveTheDams, End all #WaterAbstractions and punish the #ECOKillers if you want to restore native #Steelhead. Adding more Hatcheries will do nothing and weakens the #GenePool for #Trout & #Salmon.
Be #SalmonLeaders and #JustSayNO to quick fixes.
