Saint Aloysius Gonzaga, born in 1568, felt a strong call to serve God. Despite his father's wishes, he joined the Jesuits and dedicated himself to prayer and service. During the 1591 plague in Rome, he cared for the sick and ultimately died from the disease at 23. Canonized in 1726, he's the patron saint of youth and students. St. Aloysius Gonzaga was a young Jesuit. He had many health issues, including kidney and skin diseases. When a plague broke out in Rome in 1591, he volunteered to care for the sick, even though he found the work difficult. He eventually died from the plague.
