Takanashi's music for Sailor Moon Crystal definitely worked quite well, it fits the Cosmic and Epic vibe of Sailor Moon's Manga and is overall a better musical soundtrack then the original Sailor Moon Anime.

I don't think it fits Tokyo Mew Mew nearly as well. In fact as much as I hated on 4kids Mew Mew Power music when I watched that, I'd still kidna prefer to this.

Tokyo Mew Mew is the Anime that should be a product of it's time, it shouldn't "Age Well" as the kids say.

Yasuharu Takanashi is like Yuki Kajirua in that I can tell it's them pretty quickly even if I didn't know to expect them.

Difference Kajirua's soundtracks all sound distinctly her yet still distinct. Takanashi kinda sounds like he's just being hired to repeat the exact same handful of songs.

Sailor Moon Crystal was my first time watching an Anime with his Music. So one of the first things I notice is the Magical Girl Transformation sequence sounding exactly the same when I watched Suite Pretty Cure or Gotta Be The Twin Tail or not Tokyo Mew Mew New.

Log Horizon was interesting for how very like Sailor Crystal it sounds, but rather then transformations it's more the Dark Kingdom villain music.

Now Suite Pretty Cure was actually the first of those Magical Girl shows.

I would guess that SMC was entering pre-production around the same time Suite was ending so Toei went, "this show was praised particularly for it's Music thanks to it's gimmick so let's use the same Music guy". But SMC and Suit had other staff overlap as well.

I keep hearing contradictory things on how directly involved in SMC Naoko Takeuchi was, had she watched Suite and liked it maybe?
