Sailfish OS is something I have been exploring to get out of Apple & Google’s grips, but there’s still a lot of missing software & better ways to configure Linux systems. This is why I am adding Nix + Nixpkgs to my phone.

#SailfishOS Support for the Xperia 10 IV and V confirmed

Jolla confirmed that the upcoming 4.6 release will be supported on the #Sony Xperia 10 IV and #Xperia 10 V devices. The first release will be without the commercial components of #SailfishX and Android AppSupport will eventually be available later. Reasons are unresolved remaining issues. With further work on it and new binary data from Sony, Jolla is hoping to fix the issues.

Sailfish OS 4.5.0.25 now available. This update only includes a revised EULA and thus prepares for the upcoming 4.6.0 Sauna release.
For older devices (Jolla C, Tablet, Gemini PDA, Xperia X), 4.6.0 will be the final update.

Also: changes to payment handling on Jolla Shop & predictive text input issue for new #SailfishX license buyers, currently being resolved.

While this might be an opportunity to finally get rid of the last remaining Russian share holder, things are not looking that great and are challenging at least.

But guess who still just bought a #SailfishX license and is planning to move their main device to Sailfish again? 😬 Probably not the smartest move, but YOLO.
