📣 In German and Spanish
Fifty years ago, the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic was proclaimed.
Since then, Spain, as the former colonial power, and Morocco have systematically hindered its development. To this day, Western Sahara remains Africa's last colony.
The history of the Sahrawi people continues to be marked by violence, plunder and displacement.
But their history is also one of resistance, based on the political and legal foundations of an independent state.
A group of Spanish and Sahrawi experts, including lawyers and activists, will discuss the political and legal aspects of a people's struggle for liberation – from its history to its future.
The discussion will highlight the importance of a state's constitution and its internal and external development over the last 50 years.
