IT IS TIME!

I'm working the 4pm-8pm chaplaincy shift this evening up in Bethlehem, PA, so I'm doing my annual watch of SCROOGE, the 1951 film adaptation of A Christmas Carol, right now!

Perhaps I prefer this version because it was my late Father's favorite. Perhaps it was merely all those repeated viewings that have imprinted it upon my psyche. Whatever my reason for loving this movie, I'm once again indulging in my #ChristmasEve tradition.

Across Cultures, the Rabbit Rises
Caption:

The Moon Rabbit isn’t just found in one tradition…

The Cree tell of a rabbit who rode a crane to the moon.

The Chinese speak of a rabbit crafting the elixir of life.

Two legends, one celestial guardian.

Discover how the rabbit came to live in the moon across continents and cultures in this enchanting new blog post.

Do I prefer the 1951 film adaptation of A Christmas Carol (SCROOGE) simply because it was my late Father's favorite? Maybe. But whatever my reason for loving this movie, I'm once again indulging in my #ChristmasEve tradition.

ANCIENT NIGHT, my upcoming #PictureBook collaboration with #Mexican #artist David Álvarez, has gotten a starred review from Kirkus! Nice way to wrap up 2022, heh.

The book releases simultaneously in English and #Spanish (as NOCHE ANTIGUA) on March 7, 2023.

ANCIENT NIGHT | Kirkus Reviews

In Álvarez and Bowles’ folkloric collaboration, the moon stands alone in the vast night sky, tended by caring Rabbit and envied by clever Opossum.

I think the next few sacred stories i create will be about Mithras and Intarabus and their adventures and shenanigans in Italy, Gaul, and Germania. There's a Mithraeum in east France with a dedication to Mithras and the Hero Intarabus.
