For #ThickTrunkTuesday, I have a symbol of resilience for you: an #oak #tree that is still going strong despite a massive #canker. The tree may be from the late 1500s when the #park was founded as a hunting area and breeding/research compound, today it's next to the moose enclosure of #SababurgZoo.
The tree has a height of around 27 metres and a circumference of more than 6,6 metres (below the canker). The hollow #trunk houses a hornets' nest and visitors are asked to be cautious. As you can imagine, it's a popular photo spot.

Here's a handsome #redDeer showing off his velvet antlers. He was eager for pellets, but too shy to take them from our palm, so the #zoo build this tray ramp were you can put the pellets and the #deer eat them from there. As you can see, he enjoyed it very much.
