On March 14, 2025, the ECLAIRs telescope of the #SVOM mission detected a #GammaRayBurst (#GRB) lasting 10 seconds, which was followed up from the ground to determine its source: the explosion of a massive star in a #supernova, just 730 million years after the Big Bang.
This is an exceptional observation: “Over the past 50 years, only a few rare gamma-ray bursts dating back to the first billion years of the Universe have been detected.”
