Absolutely, I'm familiar with the concept. The #svfig talk touched on implementing high-level languages with a #softcore #forth. It's intriguing to consider for its broader success a #vm that compiles Forth bytecode, be it forth, python, or lua. FYI, I'm exploring Verilog with my own untested implementation: https://github.com/jemo07/MyFPGA_FORTH. @PythonLinks

Here are my updated slides for my upcoomint talk at #SVFIG on #Forth, #Mecrisp, and #ice40.

There are so many different Forth CPUs. It is possible to categorise them based on what their design constraints and objectives were.

@vertigo Looking forward to your talk. I haven't been to an #svfig meeting in a long time (moved out of the area), but I just dug up this old photo of me with the man himself:

> Going to give a 30-minute or so #SVFIG talk, recalling my work on my very first #KestrelComputerProject -- the Kestrel-1!

Great - needs a #forth I think! And a #wdc65816 perhaps, and therefore a #mos6502 and, finally, a #retrocomputing...

@vertigo

My #SVFIG #Forth talk is now up on Youtube (attn @akkartik ). Please see https://youtu.be/HAI8WDU-R3Y?t=5172 if you are at all interested.
