OK, so Tony Fadell wants Apple to bring back the iPod and take advantage of music player nostalgia, and I would be SO HERE FOR THAT.

The very day Apple brings iPod back to its stores again, I would be there waiting in line to pick one up. #SUATMM !!

I kinda like the tack that the Commander #X16 has taken with this, using the Commodore 8-bit machines as a hardware platform, but giving it near Amiga capabilities through FPGA coolness.

I'm hoping that the C64U (or a follow-up device, #SUATMM forever, dadgummit) might take a similar path.

Also, I don't know if anyone has complained about the price, but if they do, kindly remind them that $299 today is $89.06 in 1982 money, and the C64 debuted at $595 ($1,997.57 in 2025 US clams).

I watched this a couple nights ago, and yes, Gardiner is the cooler head we rather needed.

He makes some fair points, but to me, the final line is drawn on whether or not @mozillaofficial has the willpower and clarity to fashion a new manifesto declaring who they are and what they're about.

At the end of the day, the world does not need another adtech company. If that's what they're pivoting to, I'm out.

If they choose to pivot towards that which is ethical, noble, and virtuous, then #SUATMM. I will absolutely pay for the privilege of using firefox and thunderbird.

But I won't pay to help an adtech company.

Adtech is the devil's racket. You can't have it both ways. You can't be the noble guardian of the free and open web while dipping your toes into that "hive of scum and villainy."
