#AI is playing us for a sucker all the time.

I wanted to know which type the grounded yellow plane from the #intro video of #fs2024 is.

As I could not find otherwise for some time I asked #DuckDuckGo AI (a,b,c) and #Startpage Assist (d). Not only did the Artificial Idiot come up with different airplanes every single time - all four answers are wrong.

a) Piper J-3 Cub - nope
b) De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver -nope
c) Boeing Stearman Model 75 - nope
d) Gee Bee Model Z - nope

In fact it is a #Cubcrafter X Cub (by Asobo). Found out myself yesterday in the sim as I did not choose a #Zlin or the #Wilga as usual for a bush or outdoor flight.*

And it is a fantastic aircraft BTW, albeit not so easy to land - like all taildraggers. 🛩️

* Ceterum censeo: I want the old hangar from #fs2020 back.

Just got back from my #EAA #Experimental #Aviation chapter meeting.

Presenter was Mike Babcock, who built a full-competition Badlands Traveler and traveled the USA last season competing.

Runs a full-race Yamaha snowmobile (snow machine?) three-cylinder engine with massive turbocharger. Gets off the ground in about 30' and lands at 50' "if he does it right."

Went thru 3 engines last season, T/O power is 9800 RPM. He did not disclose T/O horsepower. Typical racer.
