Altra sorpresa serale agli Internazionali d'Italia al Foro Italico. Il brasiliano Joao Fonseca è uscito al secondo turno del torneo capitolino. La testa di serie numero 27 e bye al primo turno, è stato battuto in rimonta 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-1) dal 22enne serbo Hamad Medjedovic. Una partita ad alta tensione, con il tifo della torcida brasiliana che ha caratterizzato tutto il match, disturbando anche gli stessi giocatori in campo.

Particolarmente infuocato il finale del terzo set. Il serbo ha servito per il match ma, complice il tifo assordante, ha commesso un errore dopo l'altro. Tuttavia Medjedovic è riuscito a portare a casa la partita al tiebreak, terminato con un plateale gesto all'indirizzo dei tifosi brasiliani, una sorta di "night night" alla Steph Curry.

Another evening surprise at the Internazionali d'Italia at Foro Italico. Brazilian Joao Fonseca was eliminated in the second round of the Rome tournament. The 27th seed, who received a bye in the first round, was beaten in a comeback 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-1) by 22-year-old Serb Hamad Medjedovic. A high-tension match, with the Brazilian crowd characterizing the entire match, even disturbing the players on court.

The final set was particularly fiery. The Serb served for the match but, due to the deafening crowd support, made one mistake after another. However, Medjedovic managed to win the match in the tiebreak, ending with a flamboyant gesture towards the Brazilian fans, a kind of "night night" like Steph Curry.
