In #SRCD2021, @_lauren_eales, @sarah_domoff and I talked (remotely) about cross-sectional findings regarding Problematic media use. We now had the chance to present longitudinal followups at #SRCD2023 and meet in person (with an awesome presentation by Kaitlyn Burnell)
First symposium was success! #srcd2023 @jennawneal
I am really looking forward to this talk tomorrow! There are so many barriers to doing this important research and getting it published! #SRCD2023

Enjoying a great session at #srcd2023 on the development of speciesism in childhood and adolescence.

Main takeaways:
Young children have poor knowledge about where animal-based foods come from.

Children express more moral concern about killing animals for food than adults do.

However, adolescents exhibited more speciesism & were more likely to say that eating meat was ok than adults.

Very interesting & important work. Relevant to #vegetarian lifestyles & #ClimateChange
