Two war memorials photographed from Buck Hill.

With the white pillars and gold dome, is the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Clock Tower (6.26 mi), Victory Rd, Quincy MA

Above and to the left is a peninsula with two flagpoles at the tip. This is the South Boston Korean War Memorial (9.06 mi), Castle Island, South Boston MA

To the right of the South Boston memorial there is some kind of man-made structure on the water that I cannot find any name for. I suspect it is some kind of navigational beacon. It can be seen in Google 360 photos from Castle Island. The large beige shed like structure in front of the Clock Tower is a film studio and sound stage. Marina Studios, 260 Victory Rd, Quincy MA.

The newly completed South Station Tower, 711 Atlantic Avenue, Boston MA, photographed from Buck Hill. This tower was already under construction when I started to bring my camera up on the hill, so I went through and found the earliest photo I could find. The recent photo was taken in Nov 2025 and the older photo is from Dec 2023. At that point, only about half of the tower was built and none of the glass panels were yet attached. The bright white building to the right is the The Federal Reserve Bank Building, 600 Atlantic Ave, Boston MA, which I featured in an earlier post.

St Joseph's Church, 115 Union St, Lynn MA photographed from Buck Hill. The olive green spire is a little hard to pick out against the brown background and the tip of the spire only just rises above the land behind it.

In front of the church is the Harbor Loft Apartments, 7 Liberty Square, Lynn MA. To the left of that is a fuel storage tank, National Grid, 277-399 Blossom Street Ext, Lynn MA. To the right of the church on the horizon is a water tower, 15 Colby St, Salem MA.

This photo is a great example of the stripes of land and water that form Boston Harbor. The first strip of land below has several houses visible, inclusing several on Lorean Terrace that are in Winthrop MA. The next strip of land is part of the runway for Logan Internation Airport, East Boston MA and to the left of frame a Jet Blue airliner can be seen. Below that is Castle Island, with a view of parts of Fort Independence. While most of the fort is behind trees, the structure can be made out through the bare branches. Below that is Head Island which has what looks like a lookout tower at the tip.
