On Saturday, 28 March, millions of people will take to the streets in more than 3,000 communities across the country to say in one voice: NO KINGS!

MoveOn and our partners have been able to put everything in place to make history tomorrow. By the end of the day, chances are excellent that the media will report this was the largest single protest ever.

And then what?

The massive amount of time, effort, and resources that MoveOn, our hundreds of coalition partners, and thousands of volunteer event leaders put into NO KINGS could be lost to history if we don’t take Saturday's momentum and turn it into real change.

We’ve talked a lot about building toward 3.5% of Americans engaged in sustained resistance, because history tells us that tyrants have never been able to withstand the resistance of more than 3.5% of society.

But what often gets left out of the narrative is that these movements are not about one day—they take sustained efforts that outlast the authoritarian in charge.

For instance, we all learn in history class about Rosa Parks' refusing to give up her seat on the Montgomery, Alabama, bus, leading to the Supreme Court ruling that segregation was unconstitutional. What we don’t often learn is that Parks was the impetus for a bus boycott that lasted 381 days before the law was overturned.

On Saturday, millions of people will attend NO KINGS protests and rallies who are not yet part of the pro-democracy movement.

We want them to see that they are not alone in feeling that Trump’s agenda is so far from what we stand for as a country and find community and courage to keep fighting. We need to be ready to bring them into the movement.

And we need to be prepared to absorb these new activists, train them, and ensure they remain committed and engaged in the fight for the long haul. We are here to give all of these new members the tools they need to make change from the ground up.

I never thought the day would come when I would ask anyone NOT to click on #ProPublica links. But that day may soon arrive. The #ProPublicaGuild (the union for ProPublica workers, including writers/reporters) has voted to authorize a strike. There is no strike yet, but the Guild has authorized its leadership to call a strike at their discretion if differences with management cannot be resolved. If they do strike, they will likely call for a DIGITAL BOYCOTT of ProPublica, to be implemented by refraining from clicking on ProPublica links — in effect, a picket line in cyberspace. The strike vote passed with 92% in favor of authorizing a strike. The principal issues at stake are: refusal to guarantee due process in disciplinary actions, refusal to respect seniority when doing layoffs, refusal to offer wage increases that will keep up with inflation, and — notably — refusal to offer guarantees against replacement of workers by AI.

I have donated to ProPublica in the past. But I now believe their reporters' work (frequently of Pulitzer Prize quality) can at present best be supported by standing in full #solidarity with @propublicaguild, which will include observing their digital #boycott if a #strike is called. Please also follow them for further news and announcements relevant to the negotiations, and to the potential strike and boycott.

Dennoch bedrückt es mich zusehen wie wenig Aufmerksamkeit und vor allem wie wenig Widerspruch ich bezüglich der aktuellen Entwicklungen des Europäischen Parlaments hier lese.
-> Ist es euch (den großen/kleine Accounts) egal das heute zu dieser Stunde, das europäische Asylrecht (ein Kernfundament der EuropäischenUnion) abgeschafft wird?
-> Ist es euch Egal das hier ein Gesetz und eine anhängige Praktik beschlossen und legal wird, das als Verbrechen der Menschlichkeit in die Geschichte eingehen wird?

Ich bin erschöpft und verwirrt, ist es euch Egal, der Sache nicht Wert oder schweigt Ihr, weil Ihr Euch machtlos fühlt?
