It’s got nothing to do with politics, I just thought Gillis’ last time hosting was very very meh. Dakota Johnson hosted the first episode after the 40th anniversary, and that was also not good. All the writers and crew will still be tired!

On Reddit loads of people want Adam Scott to host, and I agree.

Having avoided as many spoilers as possible I watched the #SNL50 #SNL50thAnniversary show and thought it was fantastic. Laughed a lot. Not very retrospective-y, with loads of clips, which was good. It was just a mega-sized regular episode with the biggest ever cast. A sketch with Will Ferrell and Eddie Murphy? Yes. Adam Driver as a singing hot dog? Good idea.
