Russia “had serious security reasons” to invade Ukraine, Slovak PM #Fico wrote today in a #Facebook post, accompanied by his picture with war criminal #Putin. In his lengthy post, he strongly criticised the #EU for supporting Ukraine, adding Ukraine’s faith will now be decided by Putin and #Trump. He says the EU should forget about the “existing world order” and focus on the future, giving his last year’s meeting with Putin as an example. What a fucking moron!

The upcoming #elections to the #EuropeanParliament will show whether #Slovakia will remain part of European civilisation or whether the current government of Prime Minister Robert #Fico will push the country eastwards, says the leader of Slovakia's main opposition PS party. "Democratic elections are the only way to reverse the current course, to stop Robert Fico," PS leader Michal Šimečka said on Tuesday.

Since taking office, Prime Minister Fico has also refused to communicate with some private media, including TV Markíza, the dailies Sme and Denník N, and the news portal Aktuality.sk, which he considers "enemy media". He has even tried to restrict their access to news conferences held at the government office.

Last week, a bunch of young men led by the head of Fico’s council of advisors Erik Kaliňák, nephew of defence minister Robert Kaliňák (also of Smer), ambushed and harassed another DenníkN political columnist, Marián Leško, on a street in Bratislava, trying to videotape his reactions to various accusations thrown at him by E. Kaliňák.
