nice interview with the Sludge Life team. I'm not a heavy gamer but this was a refreshing little world to escape to, felt like I logged many more hours than I did

Back home and settling in! Work music is soundtracks like #deadlypremonition and #sludgelife, play music is grindcore like old #brob and new #gridlink (kinda fake grind but whatever), woo!

Sludge Life (1 and 2) do a really cool and unique thing with the soundtrack:
All the music comes from radios that are lying around the game world. Each one plays different music and you can only hear it within a relatively short distance.
What's more, there's a noticeable Doppler effect based on your movement around it - meaning, the music slows down or speeds up (pitch included) if you're moving towards or away from it. The result is a really dreamy, intoxicated sort of musical effect. It's REALLY neat and I don't remember seeing anything like that in a game before!
this game is so bad and I love it
Sludge Life 2 is out!
I can't possibly explain this weird sludgy irreverent dreamy nutty game but everyone needs to check it out, as well as the original
Especially if you're into Doseone's music!
I got a copy of Sludge Life for free last month and gave it a shot this week.
The aesthetic is great and I liked searching around for all the weird stuff. The game has a great vibe. Platforming took some getting used to and the graffiti was satisfying. It might be a little too aimless for my taste since I wasn't sure how to get an ending (of which there are several).
There's a sequel in the works so I'll have to keep my eye on that.
Sludge Life is free to claim on Steam until 30th of March. Sequel to the game is launching later this year.
