Sivakarthikeyan heads to Sri Lanka for next schedule of ‘Parasakthi’

Chennai, March 11 (SocialNews.XYZ) Actor Sivakarthikeyan has left for Sri Lanka for the next schedule of shooting of director Sudha Kongara’s eagerly-awaited period action drama, ‘Parasakthi’.

Interestingly, Sivakarthikeyan’s departure for the island nation was confirmed by pictures posted by Sri Lankan Airlines on their X timeline.

On Tuesday, Sri Lankan Airlines posted pictures of the actor along with the flight crew on board the flight and wrote, “We are thrilled to welcome aboard South Indian cinema star Mr. @Siva_Kartikeyan during his recent travel from Chennai to Colombo with SriLankan Airlines. Thank you for choosing SriLankan Airlines!”

Actor Ravi Mohan, who plays the antagonist in director Sudha Kongara’s upcoming period film, ‘Parasakathi’, featuring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead, has disclosed a month ago that the unit of the film would be heading to Sri Lanka for the next schedule.

Director Sudha Kongara had, last month, announced that the first schedule of the film had been wrapped in Madurai.

Posting pictures of her unit and her cast members at the famous Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple, she wrote,” Meenakshi, mayil, malli and schedule wrap in one of my most favourite places on this planet...Madurai #shootdiaries.”

‘Parasakthi’ has triggered huge interest among fans and film buffs. The period film, which also features Atharvaa and Sreeleela, is believed to be set in the 1960s in the then state of Madras.

A teaser released by the unit shows that the story takes place in the Pachaiyappa’s college in Madras where Sivakarthikeyan is seen going door to door, in search of something. He comes across as a fearless leader, looking to lead students on a violent protest in rebellion against an unjust system which seems to have imposed orders such as ‘Students - do not touch’. Incidentally, the teaser shows this order printed on a wall changed to ‘Do not touch students’.

The teaser has disclosed that Ravi Mohan’s character is intent on killing Sivakarthikeyan’s character.

Parasakthi, which was tentatively being referred to as #SK25 as it is Sivakarthikeyan’s 25th film, has music by G V Prakash and cinematography by experienced cameraman Ravi K Chandran. Stunts for the film are by Supreme Sundar.

Speaking to reporters soon after launching a restaurant, actor Jayam Ravi disclosed that the first schedule has just ended and that the film was coming out beautifully. “It is a good team that has been formed. There is a good bond that has been formed between the team members. The next schedule will happen in Lanka and we will be leaving for Lanka very soon.”

.Although there has been no official confirmation in this regard, sources in the industry claim that ‘Parasakthi’ will be the title of the film that is being tentatively referred to as #SK25.

Social media is abuzz with rumours that a title announcement teaser with a duration of one minute and 50 seconds has now been readied by the team for release.

It may be recalled that actor Sivakarthikeyan had only recently disclosed that actor Jayam Ravi plays the antagonist in this period film.

During the course of a video interview to a publication, Sivakarthikeyan had said, "We have started shooting for the film. The promo shoot happened two days ago and we are continuing to shoot. It is a period drama which will be on a big scale. In fact, it will be on a bigger scale."

The actor had gone on to inform that the film would feature actors Sreeleela and Atharvaa in pivotal roles. G V Prakash has scored the music for this film which has cinematography by experienced cameraman Ravi K Chandran.

While talking about Jayam Ravi being a part of the film, Sivakarthikeyan had said, "The exciting part is Jayam Ravi sir is, I shouldn't call him villain. He is doing the antagonist character. It is a very, very strong character and I was very happy when he said 'yes' to it. That is because I have seen his films when I was in college. That is when he got into films and he is senior to me. I have enjoyed so many films of his and I am going to act with him. We are going to fight with each other. It is going to be really exciting."

Talking about director Sudha Kongara's working style, Sivakarthikeyan had said, "Sudha ma'am is very meticulous. She prepares everything. So, we don't have to ask any question. She is always on high energy. We are shooting at many locations and it is quite a tough film also for the entire team."
