After a busy few days at the #SIPS2024 conference, Dr. Johanna Tomczak and Dr. @Jade_Pickering have taken some well-deserved time off! πŸ–οΈ

Experiencing Kenya's breathtaking natural beauty, they enjoyed an unforgettable safari and a trip to Mombasa's golden, tranquil beaches! 🐘

Our team are feeling incredibly lucky for their time in Kenya and will be back June 19th-20th for the online part of the #SIPS2024 conference! πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺ

Among many other wonderful things, #SIPS2024 in Nairobi, was surely our most diverse conference ever.

I have just been to a conference* in Nairobi and perhaps understood a little how colonial science and universities in Africa are still characterized. Everything is imposed by the West instead of taking cultural differences into account.

* #sips2024 = Society for the Improvement of Psychologicsl Science

Eye opening keynote talk from Stephen Baffour Adjei on decolonizing psychology in Africa to finish off the amazing #SIPS2024 conference. We've learned so much. Asante sana, Nairobi πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺ

Our in person #SIPS2024
conference in Nairobi is going fantastically well.

But a reminder that the separate online conference is coming right up too (June 19-20). $10 for students, $20 for faculty. Registration deadline is TODAY (June 12). sips.wildapricot.org/event-5511216.

Today is our #SIPS2024 hackathon on transparent pilot study reporting! πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸ’»

Because there are no common standards for running or reporting pilots (in psychology, but also other fields), in this hackathon we will be developing a template for reporting these studies. Let us know if you have any ideas about how we could be reporting pilots! #OpenScience #MetaScience

It’s one of the initiatives we have been working on with our Pilot Reporting Task Force, check it out! https://pilotreportingtf.github.io/
