Looking forward to taking part in the roundtable "Slavery, Dispossession, and the State: New Directions in Financial History" at #SHEAR2023 on Saturday. I'll be complementing the US-centered thoughts of Connolly, Daly, and Ramage (K-Sue Park has unfortunately had to withdraw) by offering up an outsider's take, reflecting on the history of money, public finance, and colonialism in what is now Canada.
