TreeVorGradually getting more written for the adventure my players will be starting in a month or two. I have their evasion of enemy ships while flying through an asteroid field plotted out as a series of skill checks. While I want them to succeed I had to include some stakes, so if the critically fail some of the checks they could be destroyed or captured.
I have a growing urge to run an Outer Worlds inspired lost colony style Starfinder campaign, but more anti-capitalist. Specifically set in a colony founded by people who launched from the Golarion system in sleeper ships during what became the Gap and didn’t arrive a wake up until well after Triune’s signal.
I might need to run this after my current campaign ends later this year. Assuming the world is in state where that is even possible.
Between the horrors of the US, work, and rebuilding from major water damage in the kitchen, it’s been hard finding motivation for anything enjoyable or positive. However, I have finished writing and creating everything for act 1 of the 4 act “mission” my players will be embarking on in Starfinder. They won’t be reaching this mission for a couple of months, but it feels good to at least have act 1 done and ready to run this early. Just 3 more to go…
We then had a great RP moment as his character revealed he was Atrazoan and my wife’s character also revealed they were Atrazoan. This blew the mind of our other friend and their character. Our fourth player was in this session so they don’t officially know yet. However, was included in the notes and they agreed they would let her know when they get back to the ship.
I’ve been running an episodic SF2E campaign for about a year, we started with the Playtest rules, for my wife and a few friends. My wife and one of our friends, Matt, created almost the same character without knowing it. They both went Assimilated Astrazoan ancestry and Skirmisher Operative for class. My wife created character first, and I was quietly losing my mind when Matt was telling me what he was creating.
Running the second half of Unearthing Ulumbia this afternoon, which should see my player hit 8. I converted it to 2e, and adapted to my ongoing storyline.
Spent part of the day putting the finishing touches of my conversion of Unearthing Ulumbia from SF1E to SF2E in Foundry for next Sunday’s session. I still needed to setup some of the hazards and items in Foundry.
There is 1 week left on the Starfinder: Afterlight videogame kickstarter. They blew past their initial goal within hours on the first day and have cleared through 8 of their stretch goals since then.

My physical copy of Starfinder 2E Alien Core arrived Saturday. So far I'm enjoying what it has. It feels like there are a good number of options for enemies to use in future sessions. Unsurprisingly there are some delightfully silly creatures included. Like the Typodaemon, which create conflict by making discreet adjustments to text, changing a word, adding a taunting emote, or adjusting punctuation to create entirely new meanings for written words.
I ran the first bit of the Starfinder Society scenario “Breaking the Crucible”, today. Which I updated to SF2E rules. It went well, the two Operatives nearly went down near the end of the first fight, due to the critical I kept rolling, but the Witchwarper finished off the last 2 Hellknights in time. We also had some fun with two players doing an RP flashback to an interaction they had on their ship at the start of the adventure.
