Don't bother to tell me to lighten up. This is not funny in the slightest.

I was once romantically involved with a man who wasn't interested in sex. If I had pulled a stunt like this, and had the audacity to make a video "joke" about it that I then posted to social media for all humanity to see, that would have been the end of that relationship. And justifiably so.

But the women who love and trust the men in these videos are just supposed to laugh it off?

Really interesting stuff. Living in a not so great place for my reproductive rights is genuinely scary. Since becoming an #antinatalist this past year I can say that I would get sterilized, if the procedure was safer. You can read in the article about this, but women’s healthcare is shamefully under researched and funded, like many #sexist things in this world. I would feel a lot safer if my partner were to get a vasectomy instead, personally.

I’m also interested in how the conversation of #bodilyautonomy and #reproductiverights relates to animals through the lens of #veganism -The past couple of years I’ve developed a rare opinion in that I don’t think we should be sterilizing animals without their consent.That sterilization is a form of #eugenics and that forced sterilization is #speciest. People get really mad about this in the #vegan community, but not a person has addressed my reasoning whenever I have brought it up. People don’t usually take me seriously or believe me when I say that the word b**** is a #sexist #slur

It’s so normalized in today’s speech that most people wouldn’t say that they’re specifically thinking about #women when they use it…

But take note – if you are somewhere social in a casual setting and there is a man/masculine person feeling pressured by women/feminine person(singular, plural, for any reason) I can almost guarantee you that they will use the B-word or start using it in that same situation. It’s the darndest thing, but I’ve noticed it multiple times now and I #cantunseethat

It’s the same for other gendered insults like c***, p****, t***, w****

Men/masculine people will intuitively use these #genderedslurs to assert their dominance in a situation if they feel intimidated by the women/feminine people around them…

Even if our conscious minds don’t understand that these words are sexist slurs our bodies do. #anditshows
