Could this new height detection system stop overpass strikes in B.C.?
A system of infrared laser beams, sensors, radar and beacons is being built on Highway 1 near the No. 3 Road overpass in Abbotsford, B.C., to prevent over-height vehicles from causing major damage.

Then a #crowdfunding campaign for something I desperately want: an acoustic camera. You know how thermal cameras let you see heat? Yeah, well, this uses a microphone array to see sound.

Can't justify dropping $900 on one, though, even if that *is* a lot cheaper than the $18,000 FLIR will charge you for their version...

The CRYSOUND POCKET, Now Crowdfunding, Lets You See Exactly Where That Sound Is Coming From

A 64-channel microphone array creates a thermal camera-style heatmap for sound, at a fraction of the cost of brand-name acoustic cameras.

How can the concentration of glutathione be monitored with subcellular precision?

Congratulations to Sarah Emmert on receiving one of the @GDCh_BioChem Young Scientist Awards for her work in the lab of Pablo Rivera-Fuentes on addressing this question with fluorescent sensors.

Hey everyone. Has anyone came across some project involving humidity #sensors and #opensource solutions?

I'm on the lookout for projects using sensors for humidity and soil moisture, then an irrigation control system. I've been looking at #raspberrypi projects , especially this one https://www.instructables.com/Raspberry-Pi-Controlled-Irrigation-System/ which look pretty solid although assembling a Circuit board will be challenging for me.

The question is if I'm digging myself into a hole. Should I irrigate periodically or consider using pH/soil humidity sensors? Olive trees (which I'm planning on planting) are pretty sturdy so I don't know if I'm overthinking with all the sensors.

There seems to be commercial offerings that should include everything neatly packaged. Maybe I'd use them first and gradually replace them after some hands-on experience.

You find 'makende' (Z) in a transmission pan, kindly consult that specific vehicle's #repairmanual, so to locate where they properly belong in valve body😜!

Technical Note: Optimizing Real-Time Kinematic Control with 10ms Updates 🚀

For ROS-based AGV stacks, polling latency is the enemy of safety. Standard sensors (50–100ms) are too slow for robots moving at 1.5m/s.

Our blog explores the ISSR ISUB1000/ISUBE1000 series:
✅ 10ms Cycles: Perfect for PID loops.
✅ UART TTL: Direct 9600 baud streaming.
✅ 75° Asymmetrical FOV: Max coverage, no floor-bounce.
✅ IP67 & -15°C to 60°C.
