Sometimes, it isn’t about shouting the loudest or making quick decisions.
It’s about stopping, listening, and working together.
It takes courage to pause instead of rushing to a decision or digging heels in.
Taking time to listen, double checking, getting expert advice. Getting the right answer is far better than looking decisive.
The refusal to turn issues into political fights and apportion blame but, instead, focus on the facts.
Keeping things practical encourages the community to unite rather than divide.
Instead of telling people what to do; extend an invitation to help shape the future.
Openness and transparency is everything.
Personally, I find it refreshing when leaders listen and admit they don’t have all the answers whilst treating people with respect.
Even when times are tough this kind of leadership brings a community closer together.
📣OFFICIAL OPENING OF SYMN LANE PLAY AREA 🎉🥳 was on Saturday but it clashed with our North Nibley Litter Pick. We made our way over as quick as we could but the event was over. :( However, it was nice to see all the equipment that residents and various other bodies (including Stroud District Council) helped fund. The children of Blue Coat Primary School and The British School all helped with the design.
Great weather on Saturday for the North Nibley Parish Council supported village litter pick. Helps keep the village clean and tidy and a good opportunity to chat with residents and parish councillors. I treked up to the Knoll good cardio! Andy (centre) is providing excellent detail relating to the work up in Westridge Woods helping us hold those responsible to account.
Sadly, the litter pick clashed with the opening of the Symn Lane Play Area over in Wotton. :(

Please share as you think appropriate.

The Green-led administration at Stroud District Council last night (Thursday February 19) passed an “investment budget” for Stroud District, balancing the challenge of cuts in government funding with an ambitious programme that puts over £4.6million in council priorities and new measures across the district.
My informal notes and personal comment from yesterday’s Wotton-under-Edge Town Council meeting that I attended along with SDC Cllr Braun and SDC/GCC Cllr Linda Cohen.

🔚 Self-driving cars, drones hijacked by custom road signs
「 The researchers at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and Johns Hopkins showed that, in simulated trials, AI systems and the large vision language models (LVLMs) underpinning them would reliably follow instructions if displayed on signs held up in their camera's view 」
Is Tailwind CSS passé? 🤔 In 2026, with modern CSS and the SDC approach in Symfony UX, it just might be.
I’m sharing how to write isolated components with PHP, Twig, CSS, and JS all in one place.
