At SCinet 2024, Eldon Koyle, Principal Technical Marketing Engineer at Corelight, was threat hunting using data from Corelight sensors in one of the fastest, most open research networks ever created.
👉 His key takeaway? Context is everything.
In high-speed environments, security teams can’t rely solely on alerts. They need data that paints a clearer picture of any suspicious behavior on the network. Enriched network logs provide critical visibility, helping threat hunters connect the dots and make more informed decisions in real time.
With vast amounts of data moving across the network, how do you ensure your security team has the visibility needed to identify and assess threats before they escalate? 📣 It's time for an event wrap-up!
Read highlights from #Nerdearla, #AllThingsOpen, #SeaGL, #SFSCON, #OLFConference, #SC24, and OSS Summit Japan!
The last quarter (plus the end of September) of 2024 was packed with big events for AlmaLinux, and we were so excited to join them all! Learn a bit more about each of them below, and then find out how YOU can help staff AlmaLinux booths for events just like these in 2025! NERDEARLA NERDEARLA is an event by nerds, for nerds. We attended our first NERDEARLA in Buenos Aires in September last year, and we loved it! Pavel shared his experience of staffing the booth for AlmaLinux, and he and I got to get to know our new friend Luis.
The end of 2024 was very busy with events! 🏃

A world-scale multi-path data transfer experiment showcased the interconnectedness and combined strength of the global #Research and #Education #Networking ecosystem 🗺️
Held at #SC24 in Nov 2024, and coordinated by NICT, NII National Institute of Informatics and GÉANT, this experiment used the MMCFTP (Massively Multi-Connections file transfer protocol), developed by NII to transfer data between Japan and the US over ten different 100Gbps lines, simultaneously.
Just as a living organism relies on interconnected systems to function, the global fabric of research and education depends on a web of networks, organisations, partnerships, collaborations and human interactions spanning the entire planet. In November 2024, a groundbreaking experiment held at the Supercomputing Conference (SC24) in Atlanta clearly displayed the interconnectedness and combined strength
