Détenue à 100 % par l’État belge (suite à la faillite de Dexia en 2009), 3,8 millions de clients, Belfius a donc quitté en février dernier et en toute discrétion le processus #SBTi (pour « science based targets initiative », soit littéralement « objectifs fondés sur la science ») dans lequel la banque s’était engagée deux ans auparavant.
La Belgique était pourtant sous majorité incluant les écolos du Nord au Sud du pays jusqu'il y a deux semaines.
En catimini, Belfius renonce à faire contrôler ses objectifs climatiques
La banque publique est le premier poids lourd du secteur belge à quitter le processus de certification environnementale SBTi. Soit la référence internationale pour aider les entreprises à aligner leur politique de réduction d’émissions de CO2 avec l’Accord de Paris. Les objectifs à 2030 étaient, selon nos informations, jugés trop ambitieux et à risque « social » par le management.
