Since the minio-developers capitulated to capitalism-as-capitalism-can-be I looked for alternatives (production-grade for hundreds of TiB, max 1 PiB).
What I found is RustFS and SeaWeedFS.
Both looked promising but the RustFS-devs seem to have started vibe-coding and that is an absolut red flag – red as red can be – in fact it is already in the infrared spectrum.
So my questions:
Is it true that RustFS-devs are vibe-codingDo you have any experience with either of them?Do you have any other recommendations? (Garage us not an option as that is for really small-scale, like at home)My requirements are basic S3-stuff: nothing fancy, nothing weird, no mirroring, no encryption. I don't need geographic clustering. Basically, this is meant for backup-purposes on our own hardware using Linux as OS.
Any input welcome.
