Samsung Galaxy S25 One UI 8 Beta 6 will be released soon!

While the beta recruitment was closed for the Galaxy S25, Samsung was working on the sixth beta of One UI 8. This suggests that further improvements are to be made before the final version of One UI 8 that will be released this September.

As spotted by a tipster, Tarun Vats, Samsung has just dropped a new beta build to the testing server of the Galaxy S25. This signifies that the sixth beta will make its way before the stable version, at which final improvements in those two versions must be made to ensure smooth experience. The testing build can be identified as ZYH9, but it may not be a final Beta 6 build.

The sixth beta version will be released to those who are beta testers of One UI 8 on their Galaxy S25. After that, the stable release should be the next update.

We advise beta testers to check for all updates to ensure that you’re using the stable version of One UI 8 on your Galaxy S25 by the end of September. The company warns that if you didn’t update to the stable version after the beta program ends, you won’t be able to update to versions released after One UI 8.

To update to One UI 8 Beta 6 on your Galaxy S25 once it gets released, follow these steps:

  • Open Settings
  • Navigate to System Update
  • Tap Download and Install
  • You should see the One UI 8 Beta 6 build and its changelogs
  • Tap Update now
  • Let it download, install, and verify
  • Reboot the phone
  • Make sure that you have fully charged your battery before attempting to update to One UI 8 Beta 6. Never interrupt the update in any way, or issues may occur later. You’ll need to download the update via your Wi-Fi connection to avoid high mobile data fees.

Samsung Galaxy S25 One UI 8 Beta recruitment closed!

Ahead of the September release, One UI 8 Beta recruitment for the Galaxy S25 has been finally closed. For history, One UI 8 Beta Program has officially started on May 28th for the Galaxy S25 with build ZYER. Since then, the following versions were released, all in chronological order (Korea):

    • One UI 8 Beta 2 (build ZYF3): June 12th, 2025
    • One UI 8 Beta 3 (build ZYFA): June 30th, 2025
    • One UI 8 Beta 4 (build ZYGB): July 30th, 2025
    • One UI 8 Beta 5 (build ZYH6): August 19th, 2025

While the whole Beta program planning is still ongoing, because the expansion is going to target more devices on September, Samsung has shut down the recruitment for One UI 8 Beta Program for the Galaxy S25. This is all laid out in an official Samsung Members announcement below:

This kind of communication, as well as previous announcements for Beta 4 and Beta 5, was expected from Samsung. However, the sixth beta version is in the works.

The stable rollout is expected to begin from the Galaxy S25, starting from Korea, and beta testers will get the update first. Beta testers are expected to update the system to the official version (can be identified with BYH? or BYI?) to be able to receive further updates.

While there is still no news about the One UI 8 Beta for watches, we should be hopeful. The rollout will be gradual, and every eligible device will be updated across more regions, starting from Korea.

One UI 8 for Galaxy S25 and Z Fold7 will feature the new photo watermark!

The new photo watermark feature will make its way to the latest One UI 8 version for the Galaxy S25 series and the Galaxy Z Fold7 foldable. While we are awaiting the stable One UI 8 rollout on September, with the fifth beta for the Galaxy S25 being scheduled for this week, the new photo watermark feature has been showcased by PhoneArt on X.

This new photo watermark comes in two styles: landscape and portrait. Below, you can see the two watermark styles, with the top being for portrait images, and the bottom being for landscape images.

As you can see, the images have a border that describes the device used, which, in this case, the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It also contains the date and the time the picture was taken, and a bunch of camera parameters used when taking the picture.

Currently, there is no information as to when and what devices will be eligible for this feature, other than the fact that the Galaxy S25 and the Z Fold7 will get it in the latest One UI 8 update. However, it might come to other eligible devices, like the Galaxy S24.

Samsung Galaxy S25 One UI 8 Beta 5 will be available next week!

Samsung has officially announced in the Korean version of Samsung Members that they’d be releasing plans for versions after the fourth beta version has been released last week. According to Alfaturk, the below screenshot has been captured to showcase the announcement.

The above announcement is translated as below:

hello. Customers who participated in the beta,

After Beta 4, we will announce the version plan.

The 5th version is scheduled to be released, and preparations are underway with the goal of opening it next week.

We are reviewing all errors and suggestions sent by our customers, and we always appreciate your active participation.

We will respond with a more stable version based on your feedback.

We ask for your continued interest and support.

    thank you

Samsung has officially confirmed the fifth beta to be released, but didn’t announce anything about the Galaxy Watch One UI 8 Beta plans. This means that we should expect the fifth beta to drop somewhere between August 18th and 22nd, should everything go as planned.

Those who are using the Galaxy S25 Edge will have to wait until the final version becomes live in September, as the device was too new when the Beta Program was released.

Meanwhile, Samsung has already opened the One UI 8 Beta Program for the Galaxy S24 and the Z Fold/Flip6 series.

Today, Samsung officially announced in their newsroom blog article that said that they were expanding the Beta Program to more devices starting August 11th, 2025. The beta program officially started on May 28th for the Galaxy S25 devices. Just like One UI 7 whose beta program was made initially available only for the Galaxy S24 devices before the official expansion on March, the company wanted to expand the Beta Program of the upcoming One UI 8 software based on Android 16.

As per the official announcement, the following devices in Korea, the USA, the UK, and India (excluding Poland and Germany) will experience the One UI 8 Beta Program in this date:

    • Galaxy S24 / S24+ / S24 Ultra
    • Galaxy Z Fold6 (excluding Z Fold Special Edition)
    • Galaxy Z Flip6

The beta program will also extend to the Galaxy Watch6 and the Galaxy Watch5 smartwatches, which should happen later as they’ve announced it when they started the beta program for One UI 8 Watch.

Whereas the official version will be rolled out to all eligible Galaxy devices, starting from the Galaxy S25 series family, including the Galaxy S25 Edge, to older devices that will gradually get the update. This rollout will happen as the summer concludes itself, and September is the chosen month.

However, One UI 8 Watch will make its way to more smartwatches, including the Galaxy Watch4, later this year. Those who have already participated to the beta program should update to the official version once it’s out.

One UI 8 Beta 4 will be released next week

In the beta board notices for the Korean Samsung Members forums, the beta moderator has officially confirmed that One UI 8 Beta 4 will be released next week based on the following text (translated):

    Hello, Beta participants,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delay in updates after Beta 3.
We are currently preparing Beta 4 and are doing our best to release it next week.

We deeply appreciate the error reports and valuable opinions you have sent us. We will reward you with a more stable version based on this.
We ask for your continued interest and support.

    thank you

Samsung is apologizing for the delay of updates that happened after Beta 3 was released on June 30th. We’re only six days shy from being a month since the third beta was released. Meanwhile, Good Lock was actively being worked on in preparation for One UI 8 prior to the official rollout that may happen next month.

Alongside the apology, Samsung has officially revealed that they’re currently preparing Beta 4 and that they’re planning to release it “next week.” This means that Beta 4 could make its way as early as July 28th and as late as July 31st. Also, they’ve expressed their appreciation for the Beta users leaving feedback.

For those who are in the second wave countries, such as India, you’ll be able to identify the next beta version as Beta 3.

To install One UI 8 Beta 4 once it gets released, make sure that you’re in the beta program, then follow these steps:

  • Open Settings
  • Navigate to Software update
  • Tap Download and Install
  • You should see an update page that has the changelogs of One UI 8 Beta 4
  • Press the install button.
  • Make sure that your phone is fully charged before performing the update. When downloading the update, you’ll need to use your Wi-Fi connection, since data charges from your mobile data provider can be expensive, depending on the size of the update. Never interrupt the update process in any way, or problems may occur.

One UI 8 Beta Program is about to open soon!

One UI 8 has made a significant appearance, with new features and other improvements. Samsung has recently prepared the forum community pages for the One UI 8 Beta Program, and it tells us that the Beta Program will be open in the following countries:

    • Korea
    • United States of America
    • United Kingdom
    • Germany
    • India
    • Poland

This gives us a hint that the Beta Program will open very soon. After the program opens, users should be able to try out One UI 8 in its earliest shape and form on their Galaxy S25 devices. However, the forum community pages don’t mention the Galaxy S25 Edge, which most likely is attributed to the late release of the said flagship.

To join the Beta Program, you must have the latest version of Samsung Members installed. You can get the latest version through either the Galaxy Store or the Play Store. Once done, you should be able to join the program if you have an eligible device.

One UI 8 Beta Program tipped to start in June!

One UI 8 is an incremental update that started after the One UI 7 development finished. This version of One UI brought aesthetic changes to various system apps, as well as improved animations, general performance improvements, optimizations for large screens, and bug fixes.

Recently, a rumor circulated online about how Samsung plans to start the One UI 8 beta program as early as June, starting from the Galaxy S25 series. The same tweet advises that this is not an officially confirmed information coming from Samsung, so users are advised to take this with a grain of salt.

This is connected with earlier rumors about how Samsung plans to release One UI 8 in the second half of this year. In case this rumor turns out to be true, users who have an eligible device, such as the Galaxy S25, will be able to try out One UI 8 before everyone else. We will, however, remind you that the Beta program is for you to find and report bugs and suggestions to Samsung as development progresses. Countries like Korea, India, and the USA are eligible for this Beta program.
