Il Tempo: Gasperini “Derby alle 12 non il massimo, ma siamo motivati”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “La Lazio è un'ottima squadra anche se ha finito la stagione. L'unica motivazione è cercare di impedire alla Roma di arrivare in Champions. Noi abbiamo motivazioni più vere e forti, ma il derby è sempre difficile da giocare. Allo stesso tempo non possiamo pensare che loro abbiano un morale straordinario in questo momento, ma sicuramente faranno di tutto per rovinarci la frittata…”. Lo ha detto il tecnico della Roma, Gian Piero Gasperini, in conferenza stampa alla vigilia del derby contro la Lazio, che si disputerà alle 12 di domenica dopo l'accordo trovato tra la Lega Serie A e la Prefettura al termine di un lungo braccio di ferro approdato al Tar. “Siamo così motivati in questa rincorsa per il quarto posto che siamo quelli meno accreditati a rispondere perchè avremmo giocato a qualunque ora e in qualunque giorno – ha spiegato il tecnico giallorosso -. Ma effettivamente non è stato un esempio di grande programmazione. Giocare cinque partite contemporaneamente lo trovo però molto bello, anche emozionante per tutti. Che poi si arrivi a disputarle alle 12 di domenica forse non è il massimo”.
In questi giorni a Trigoria si sta pianificando il futuro con Ryan Friedkin: “La presenza fisica della proprietà è fondamentale, quando i Friedkin sono presenti tutto quanto funziona meglio. C'è meno gente che riporta cose e c'è più possibilità di avere rapporti diretti, senza intermediari che anche involontariamente o volontariamente cambiano le opinioni. Mi auguro che Ryan in questi giorni, come già è successo, riesca ad avere, oltre alla velocità nelle trattative con gli agenti dei giocatori, anche un rapporto di conoscenza con questa squadra, che per questa società sta dando veramente il massimo, indipendentemente dal futuro di un giocatore o di un altro”. Tra le priorità c'è la trattativa per il rinnovo di Paulo Dybala: “E' importante che entrambe le parti, la proprietà e il giocatore, abbiano questa idea. La trovo molto positiva, quando c'è la volontà si può trovare la soluzione”.

We have more real and strong motivations, but the derby is always difficult to play. I hope that Ryan, as has already happened, will be able to have, in addition to speed in negotiations with player agents, also a relationship of knowledge with this team, which is giving its utmost for this company, regardless of the future of a player or another.” Among the priorities is the negotiation for Paulo Dybala’s contract renewal: “It’s important that both parties, the ownership and the player, have this idea. I find it very positive; when there is the will, a solution can be found.”

Olimpico pieno (con la presenza di Ryan Friedkin in tribuna) e tifo caldo, Roma-Bologna sarà aggiunta all'elenco delle grandi notti europee, resta da capire se sarà trionfale o meno. Era tutto fatto per il rientro alla Roma di Francesco Totti, ma ora il futuro dell’ex bandiera della squadra della Capitale appare in bilico. Dietro lo stallo, la probabile scelta della dirigenza di riservare all’ex capitano un ruolo da ambasciatore o comunque un incarico meno operativo rispetto a quello immaginato da Totti inizialmente.
In principio, Totti era convinto di accettare la proposta della società: l’incarico, sottopostogli durante una cena dal tecnico della Roma Gian Piero Gasperini, sarebbe dovuto essere di collegamento tra la squadra, lo staff tecnico e il direttore sportivo Ricky Massara. La proposta sarebbe stata a grande linee accettata dalla bandiera giallorossa. Tuttavia i proprietari Dan e Ryan Friedkin pare abbiano deciso di fare marcia indietro, proponendo a Totti il ruolo di ambasciatore della squadra per il centenario dalla nascita della Roma in programma nel 2027.
Secondo il Corriere dello Sport, il nuovo incarico di Francesco Totti sarebbe simile a quello di Zlatan Ibrahimovic all’interno del Milan, ovvero un consigliere, capace di fare da punto di riferimento per la squadra, l’allenatore e gli altri dirigenti. Pare che Totti alla fine accetterà la proposta, facendo un passo indietro rispetto alle sue iniziali aspettative, pur di rientrare nella famiglia Roma in vista dell’appuntamento storico con il centenario.

Everything was set for Francesco Totti’s return to Roma, but now the future of the former captain of the capital city team appears uncertain. Behind the standstill, the likely choice of the club’s management is to reserve for the ex-captain a role as an ambassador or, at the very least, an assignment less operational than the one initially envisioned by Totti.

Initially, Totti was convinced to accept the company’s proposal: the role, submitted to him during a dinner with Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini, was intended to be one of liaison between the team, the technical staff, and sporting director Ricky Massara. The yellow-red flag bearer had broadly accepted the proposal. However, owners Dan and Ryan Friedkin apparently decided to backpedal, proposing to Totti the role of team ambassador for the Roma’s centenary, scheduled for 2027.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Francesco Totti’s new role would be similar to that of Zlatan Ibrahimovic within AC Milan, namely a consultant, capable of serving as a reference point for the team, the coach, and other executives. It seems that Totti will ultimately accept the proposal, stepping back from his initial expectations, in order to return to the Roma family in view of the historic appointment with the centenary.
