🚀 I'm thrilled to announce that I'll have a keynote at
#RustLab @rustlab 2025, the Italian #Rust 🦀 conference in Florence on November 4th.

🎙️ It will be a journey through the origin of Async Rust, why it is necessary (and when it’s not) and the issues caused by the “over-async” phenomenon.

I will also cover why, for library maintainers, it’s hard to create sync/async public API for their crates and how (and whether) we can mitigate it.

And finally, I'll showcase maybe-fut, a library that, with the power of advanced proc macro, is able to allow developers to expose sync and async API, reusing the same code.

Big news for participants of my #wgpu workshop last saturday at @rustlab! Apparently, iOS 18.2 will enable #WebGPU support in Safari by default, so everything you learned can now be used not only in Chrome and Edge, but also on iOS (and probably iPadOS) Safari!
