Rüsselsheim war einst ein Symbol deutscher Industriepower. Die Marke Opel prägte über Jahrzehnte das Stadtbild und das Leben tausender Familien. Heute wirkt vieles davon wie eine ferne Erinnerung. Il Fatto Quotidiano: Stellantis “rafforza la partnership” con la cinese Leapmotor: accordo per produrre un nuovo suv elettrico nei siti di Madrid e Saragozza

Stellantis, in attesa di ufficializzare la cessione di alcuni stabilimenti europeialla cinese Dongfeng, ha annunciato venerdì il “rafforzamento della partnership strategica” con Leapmotor in Spagna. Lo stabilimento di Villaverde a Madrid, dove è prevista la conclusione della produzione della Citroën C4, passerà alla jv Leapmotor International controllata al 51% da Stellantis e, oltre a produrre dal 2028 il C-Suv Bev di Opel, potrebbe vedersi assegnare un nuovo modello Leapmotor. I veicoli verrebbero commercializzati da Leapmotor International nel mercato europeo, in Medio Oriente e Africa.
Nel sito Stellantis di Figueruelas, a Saragozza – storico stabilimento Opel in cui dal 1982 sono stati prodotti oltre 10 milioni di Opel Corsa – il nuovo C-Suv Bev si aggiungerà all’attuale produzione della Peugeot 208 e della Lancia Ypsilon. Già nel 2026 potrebbe arrivare anche la produzione del C-Suv B10. Il nuovo C-suv Bev di Opel beneficerebbe anche di componenti di provenienza Leapmotor International che renderebbero “più accessibili i modelli elettrici in Europa”.
Il suv Opel del segmento C, primo modello previsto con l’ampliamento della partnership, sarà progettato e sviluppato a Rüsselsheim, utilizzerà componenti delle batterie Leapmotor, combinati con il design e le tecnologie di Opel e “beneficerà della rete produttiva Stellantis in Europa”.
Secondo l’ad del gruppo automobilistico Antonio Filosa il piano “prevede un supporto alla produzione, i posti di lavoro e la localizzazione avanzata in Europa della produzione di veicoli elettrici di livello mondiale a prezzi accessibili per soddisfare le reali esigenze dei clienti”. Zhu Jiangming, fondatore e ceo di Leapmotor, parla di “partnership straordinariamente potente” e “vantaggi per entrambi i partner” visto che “in meno di tre anni ci ha visto lanciare il nostro marchio in cinque continenti e far crescere significativamente a livello internazionale la nostra portata e la nostra reputazione”.

Stellantis, while awaiting official confirmation of the sale of some European plants to Chinese Dongfeng, announced on Friday the “strengthening of the strategic partnership” with Leapmotor in Spain. The Villaverde plant in Madrid, where the production of the Citroën C4 is scheduled to end, will pass to the Leapmotor International JV, controlled 51% by Stellantis, and, in addition to producing the Opel C-SUV Bev from 2028, may also be assigned a new Leapmotor model. The vehicles would be commercialized by Leapmotor International in the European market, the Middle East, and Africa.

At the Stellantis site in Figueruelas, in Zaragoza – a historic Opel plant where over 10 million Opel Corsas have been produced since 1982 – the new C-SUV Bev will join the current production of the Peugeot 208 and the Lancia Ypsilon. Production of the B10 C-SUV could also begin in 2026. The new Opel C-SUV Bev would also benefit from components from Leapmotor International, making electric models “more accessible in Europe.”
