Labour's homelessness minister Rushanara Ali has resigned having reportedly hiked the rent on a property she owns by hundreds of pounds - something which was described by one of her tenants as "extortion".

So a lot hangs on whether #angelarayner and #rushanaraali are able to see the bill through into law in the next year or two. They deserve support on this - particularly against opponents within #Laɓour !
There will no doubt be arguments within government about how fully the recommendations of the independent #electoralcommission will be accepted and implemented. #rushanaraali and her boss #angelarayner may well have to fight quite hard to strengthen the defences of the democratic system against dark money - particularly since others within #labour may have harnessed it in the recent past - if 'Get In' is to be believed.
Much will depend on how the #ukgoverment responds to various recommendations made by the #electoralcommission . These include tighter restrictions on funding of campaigns and parties - not to mention less biased rules on #voterID ! The restrictions resemble those considered by #labour a year ago - but vetoed by #lordalli and #morganmcsweeney - according to 'Get In' by #patrickmaguire and #gabrielpogrund . I have hopes of the minister responsible - #rushanaraali ,
